Inspiring Architecture

Acclaimed architect David Hovey and Optima, Inc., his nationally recognized development firm, will start construction immediately on Optima Center Chicago, an amenity-rich rental apartment building.

The architecturally distinctive, state-of-the-art building is located at the northeast corner of Illinois and St. Clair Streets in the prestigious Streeterville neighborhood. It is just one block east of Michigan Avenue and Chicago's premier shopping destination. In addition to being the newest of innovative contemporary designs for which David Hovey is known throughout the country, the building will include the signature features that make Optima, Inc. buildings so desirable. Optima Old Orchard Woods, his most recent building, has garnered high praise from both the architectural community and residents of the building overlooking Harms Woods forest preserve.

Optima Center Chicago is designed to reflect luxury condominium standards and will feature flexible open floor plans with floor-to-ceiling glass to frame panoramic views as well as hardwood floors, premium wood cabinets, high-end stainless steel appliances and granite and marble counters.

Recreational facilities and other conveniences will include a glass-enclosed fitness center overlooking downtown Chicago and comprised of an exercise facility, basketball court and flex studio. An indoor lap pool will feature sliding retractable glass walls for indoor/outdoor use and a hot tub is also located in the pool area. Men's and women's locker rooms equipped with steam rooms complete the area. Outdoor patios and grills are available at amenity-level terraces.

An unique attraction on the top of the building will be the landscaped green roof sky deck equipped with two kiva fireplaces circled by seating areas, two large hot tubs and two grills. The sky deck will provide spectacular views of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and many of downtown Chicago's most noteworthy buildings.

In addition, a Residents' Club, multi-purpose room and conference room feature a game room, lounge, flat screen television and two catering kitchens. Private offices will be available with workstations and high-speed internet.

Security consists of 24/7 monitored access, intercom and video surveillance as well as a 24-hour doorman. A 238-car parking garage with bicycle storage and other storage facilities complete the amenities, and the building will also include commercial/retail office space.
